Dave and Lauren were married on a gorgeous spring day in Winter Park Florida. Usually in Florida’s peak heat season you get the heat and humidity, but when I stepped out of the car at the Racquet Club in the morning the birds were chirping, the flowers were blooming, and the humidity was (luckily) at a low. I knew from that moment that this was going to be a perfect day. The warm sun was peeking through palm trees that lined the edge of the glistening water of the lake that made the most beautiful backdrop for their outdoor wedding.

Lauren made her way down the aisle with the help of her brothers, each handing her off to the next in the sweetest of exchanges. She looked so stunning and the smile on her face as she walked down the aisle went from ear to ear. Her smile only matched by her groom waiting for her with his right hand over his left. You could see the glimmer in his eyes as he watched his bride make her way to him. They exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony hosted by a mutual friend who shared memories that brought tears and stories that brought laughter. This day had been a long time coming and everything from the temperature to the stunning satin dress was unfolding perfectly.

During the reception Laurens brother made his way to the front of the room and with his microphone free hand pulled an index card out of his suit pocket. Smiling at Lauren his eyes drifted to his notes so he could read the words he had prepared for his only sister on her wedding day. He spoke about many things, but the line that stuck with me the most was when he described Lauren as fiercely loyal. For many reasons this made my heart happy, not only because Lauren would be joining our family but because Lauren’s groom sitting to her right is my uncle, someone who funnily enough I would also describe as fiercely loyal. A perfect match, which you can see if you only glance in their direction for a second.

Dave and Lauren, thank you so much for honoring me with allowing me to capture this special day. I was so happy so be able to be a part of it and capture these memories for y’all, and for our families! I am so excited for all the joyful years to come and I am glad that I will get to be a part of them!
